Paralakhemundi: A major fire broke out at the Regional Transport Office (RTO) in Paralakhemundi in Odisha’s Gajapati district on Saturday, causing extensive damage to the server room.
According to preliminary information, the fire broke out on the first floor of the RTO office. The flames rapidly engulfed the server room, reducing all equipment and other materials inside to ashes.
After receiving information about the incident, fire service personnel rushed to the spot and launched an operation to control the blaze and prevent the fire from spreading to other parts of the office building.
While an electrical short circuit was suspected to have triggered the fire, the exact cause is yet to be established.
Officials are expected to assess the damage caused by the fire, including the extent of loss to servers, electronic equipment and other office property. The total financial loss will become clear after a detailed investigation.
