Brahmapur: A Class VI student reportedly went missing after being swept away by strong current of the Rushikulya river at Sorada in Odisha’s Ganjam district on Monday.
The boy has been identified as Kism Nayak of Mathasahi in Sorada. He is a student of Adarsha Vidyalaya.

According to preliminary information, the boy had gone to take a bath in the river around in the morning when he slipped and was swept away by the strong current. Locals launched a search immediately and alerted the fire service personnel.
A team of fire service reached the site and started a rescue operation with the help of a boat. Rescue efforts are being hampered due to the river’s depth and strong flow.
