Bhubaneswar: In a major achievement, the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) Portal of the Higher Education Department of Odisha has been conferred the prestigious SKOCH Platinum Award 2026.
SAMS provides a single-window online platform for students to apply for courses, while enabling colleges to manage admissions and academic records with minimal paperwork and enhanced transparency.
What started as a small pilot over a decade ago has now evolved into a robust statewide system covering Higher Secondary, Undergraduate, and various professional courses.
Congratulating the SAMS team, Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj said the department remains committed to leveraging technology to build a more efficient and inclusive higher education ecosystem in the state.
Commissioner-cum-Secretary Aravind Agrawal also lauded all stakeholders associated with the portal, stating that the department has taken several initiatives to strengthen education delivery, improve learning quality, and expand skill development and employment opportunities for students.
“The Higher Education Department extends its heartfelt congratulations and appreciation to all stakeholders who have contributed to this achievement – our Higher Education Institutions, students, service provider, and dedicated officials associated with SAMS. This recognition is a testament to our collective commitment to transparent, efficient and technology-enabled delivery of higher education services. Congratulations to Team SAMS,” the Department said in a post on X.
