Amritsar: The Border Security Force (BSF) on Friday foiled an alleged infiltration attempt along the international border in Punjab, eliminating two suspected Pakistani intruders in the Tarn Taran district.
The incident took place around noon in the border outpost (BOP) Rajoke area.
BSF personnel reportedly detected suspicious movement towards the Indian side and quickly moved to challenge the individuals approaching the border.
Three individuals were seen moving towards the Indian border from the Chattanwala area on the Pakistani side. BSF personnel warned them against proceeding further into Indian territory. The warnings were ignored, prompting BSF personnel to open fire.
Two of the suspected infiltrators were killed, while the third individual managed to retreat towards the Pakistani side.
The bodies of the suspected intruders were handed over to police for post-mortem examination. Their identities have not yet been officially disclosed.
