Guwahati: A shocking incident unfolded at a Guwahati nightclub, where a woman was allegedly stripped and assaulted inside the premises. Authorities have taken the manager of The Locals Cafe and Lounge in Khanapara into custody and are interrogating staff members as they investigate the disturbing episode.
The alleged attack happened late on Thursday night at the fourth-floor establishment in Khanapara area of the city. Viral Clips Show Woman Being Kicked
Several clips purportedly captured during the incident have gone viral on social media. One video depicts a woman lying on the floor with her upper body exposed while two women, believed to be bouncers, appear to kick and attack her. A number of men can be seen standing around watching.
Another clip shows a woman attempting to assist the victim before a vehicle enters the frame, blocking the view. Law enforcement officials are reviewing the footage as part of their inquiry and speaking to individuals who were at the nightclub during the incident, as reported by The Statesman.
Police Trace Basement Route
Initial reports indicate the woman was shoved to the ground and assaulted inside the club. She was subsequently moved from the fourth floor to what appeared to be the parking or basement area. Police are investigating what transpired during that time and why she was transferred from one section of the building to another.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Tabu Ram Pegu confirmed that the nightclub manager had been taken into custody for questioning. Authorities are also looking into what happened immediately before the alleged assault and whether a confrontation between the woman and the club’s bouncers occurred beforehand.

Guard’s Version Under Scrutiny
A security guard has reportedly stated that the altercation started after a female bouncer raised objections to the woman’s clothing. According to this account, the woman allegedly struck the bouncer with a bottle. This version has not been independently verified and is one of several scenarios being examined by police.
