Bhubaneswar: A special campaign will be conducted in Odisha from Wednesday to reinstate eligible voters left out of the electoral roll during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), and also to include newly-eligible voters.
The campaign, to be held on October 7, 8 and 9, aims to make the electoral roll more accurate, transparent and updated.
The list of deceased, transferred, absent and duplicate voters identified during SIR exercise will be made available on the website of the concerned district and Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Odisha.
Young men and women who attained the age of 18 years by October 1, 2026 can apply for inclusion in the electoral roll through Form 6. Eligible persons can apply through their respective Booth Level Officer (BLO).
Electors whose names could not be included in the final list during SIR 2026 for some reason can also apply during this special campaign.
Voters will have an opportunity to verify earlier lists, and submit claims and objections after necessary verification, if the name of any eligible voter has been incorrectly excluded or categorised.
The lists will also be shared with representatives of all recognised political parties. Party representatives will be able to examine the lists and submit claims and objections, wherever necessary.
Voters can also approach their respective BLO for assistance with the application process.
As per instructions of the CEO’s office, necessary training has been provided to all BLOs at the district level on including missing eligible voters and young voters. BLOs have been directed to provide support and guidance to facilitate registration.
