Nayagada: Principal of a degree college was found dead under mysterious circumstances on a train near Daspalla railway station in Odisha’s Nayagada district on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Maheswar Mahapatra, who was the principal of Sarankul Degree College in Nayagada district.
According to sources, the body of Mahapatra was found on Bhubaneswar-Daspalla MEMU. The principal was reportedly returning to Nayagada from Bhubaneswar.
After receiving information, the Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel reached the site and seized the body which was sent for postmortem. They have launched an investigation into the incident.
The body will be handed over to the family members after completion of the autopsy and legal process.
While Mahapatra was suspected to have have suffered a cardiac arrest, the exact cause of his death would be known only when the postmortem report is available.
