New Delhi: Lashing out at Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal for allegedly attempting to disrupt peace in the national capital, Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta said they are acting in coordination with the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP).
She questioned the leaders’ political approach and accused them of allowing their frustration over repeated electoral defeats to affect Delhi residents, in a post on X.
The CM also raised concerns about the impact of political activities on people travelling to work, daily-wage labourers and patients trying to reach hospitals.
Gupta asked whether the leaders’ political ambitions were more important than the livelihoods, safety and peace of millions of families in Delhi, as reported by News18.
Delhi had voted for development, she said and referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s third consecutive term in office as a reflection of public support.
Parties driven by dynastic politics and political opportunism were unable to accept the mandate, Gupta said. Kejriwal was attempting to disturb peace and security in Delhi for political gains, she added.
The chief minister further criticised what she described as the politics of creating anarchy under the guise of democracy and said her government would oppose attempts to disrupt peace in the national capital and challenge the people’s mandate.
“Let it be known: Delhi will not be held hostage,” Gupta said, adding that there would be a firm response to attempts to spread unrest in the name of democracy.
