Mumbai: Actor Imran Khan and his girlfriend, Lekha Washington, were reportedly detained in Mumbai amid the ongoing CJP protest, along with actress Zayn Khan.
Following the reported detention, Imran took to Instagram to share a picture from inside a police van, captioning it, “Apparently I’m going for a drive.”
Lekha also shared a story, writing, “Romance ho to aisi.”
As pictures and videos of Imran’s reported detention surfaced online, fans took to social media to express their support for the actor and praise his courage.
One user commented, “Ohh…..this is real courage man🔥🔥❤️”.
“I have always loved this man since I was 5. thank you,” another wrote.
A third user shared, “You are a hero, both on screen and in life. Respect 🫡”.
“Ranjhore Ke Rathod, for real! ❤️🔥,” another comment read.
Actress Saiyami Kher also reacted to Imran’s post, praising him for his courage.

Meanwhile, more than 40,000 Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Force personnel were deployed for the CJP-led protest, which called for Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
According to ThePrint, more than 200 protesters had been detained and taken to makeshift detention centres. Those reportedly detained included YouTuber Dhruv Rathee and CJP member Ratna Singh.
CJP leader Abhijeet Dipke and spokespersons Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka were also detained at Delhi airport upon arriving from Mumbai.
AISA national president Neha Bora was detained after police stopped her march from Dilli Haat.
The joint protest, organised by CJP and Left organisations under the banner ‘Jantar Mantar 2.0’, also saw the participation of farmers from Haryana and Punjab.
