Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was felicitated during the inauguration of Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) state-of-the-art Data Centre and Cybersecurity Training Institute at Jatni here on Sunday.
RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra gifted the Prime Minister a Pattachitra painting of the newly-established centre.
The exquisite painting has been created by Bijay Maharana and his wife. Bijay is a Pattachitra artist from Odisha’s Raghurajpur, who has been honoured and acclaimed by the President of India.

Bijay has depicted the Data Centre and Cybersecurity Training Institute campus in the visual language of Pattachitra. Pattachitra is one of Odisha’s oldest living art traditions, closely bound to the worship of Lord Jagannath at Puri.

Bijay lives and works in Danda Sahi, a crafts village near the heritage village of Raghunathpur in Puri district, where generations of artisan families keep the region’s tradition alive.
While one painting was presented to PM Modi, a second one will be kept at the Data Centre.
