Pakistan Expels India’s Envoy Ajay Bisaria

Islamabad: Pakistan on Wednesday announced downgrading of diplomatic ties with India, expelling India’s high commissioner Ajay Bisaria.

At present, Pakistan does not have a high commissioner deputed in India. Pakistani diplomat, Moin-ul-Haq was supposed to assume the post soon after he was appointed in May. Now, he will not be taking up the post in New Delhi.

Taking a strong stand against India’s move to scrap Article 370 of the Constitution that gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir, the neighbour also announced the suspension of bilateral ties with India and reviewing existing ties.

The development followed after Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan held a meeting of the National Security Committee.

Pakistan has also decided to observe India’s Independence Day as black day and its own Independence Day as a day of expressing solidarity with the Kashmiris.
