Mumbai: Faissal Khan on Monday held a press meet in Mumbai to disclose why he had severed ties with his brother Aamir and the rest of the family.
Faissal claimed that Aamir had an affair with a journalist while he was married to Reena Dutta, and even has a child with her.
“Aamir married Reena and later divorced her. Then he had a relationship with Jessica Hines, unka illegal baccha tha, out of wedlock (he had an illegitimate child). He was living with Kiran at that time (of this incident).”
Faissal further revealed how people in his family were forcing him to get married despite themselves having failed marriages.
“My family was pressuring me to get married. I was so angry, I wrote a letter stating what my family had done,” he added.

A day before the press conference, Faissal took to his Instagram handle and posted, “With a heavy heart yet renewed courage, I wish to share that I have severed all family ties, as declared through a public notice. This step, though difficult, is essential for my healing and growth. Life now enters a new chapter of freedom, dignity, and self-discovery — one that I embrace with positivity, truth, and strength.”
Faissal, who was accompanied by his lawyer at the press conference, reiterated claims of being drugged by his family under the pretext of treatment for mental illness. He also alleged that he was placed under ‘house arrest’ for a year.
Following Faissal’s statement, Aamir’s family released a statement describing the former’s claims as ‘hurtful and misleading’ portrayal of family members.
The statement was signed by Aamir’s family members, including Reena Dutta, Junaid Khan, Ira Khan, Farhat Datta, Rajiv Datta, Kiran Rao, Santosh Hegde, Seher Hegde, Mansoor Khan, Nuzhat Khan, Imran Khan, Tina Fonseca, Zayn Marie Khan, and Pablo Khan.
