New Delhi: Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia has demanded the arrest of Amit Shah if the Union Home Minister is found to be involved in ‘Operation Lotus’ to allegedly topple non-BJP ruled states.
Attacking the BJP leadership for alleged attempts to bribe some Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MLAs and force them to join BJP, Delhi Deputy CM Sisodia said the saffron party had earlier made poaching attempts in Delhi, Punjab and eight other states.
The BJP is once again playing a “dirty game” this time in Telangana, Sisodia alleged.
An audio clip has surfaced in which three men are allegedly trying to bribe TRS MLAs and urging them to switch to BJP. The clip reportedly had a reference to one ‘Shah ji’.
“If Shah ji is indeed Union Home Minister Amit Shah, then he should be arrested and interrogated. Because if a broker is caught buying an MLA and the name of the Home Minister of the country features in it, then it is very dangerous for the entire country,” Sisodia said.
Three men were detained in Hyderabad earlier this week after being allegedly caught trying to poach MLAs of Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao-headed TRS.
A city court, however, turned down a police petition seeking custody of the three men, who walked free.
Two months ago, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and other AAP leaders accused the BJP of offering Rs 20 crore to its MLAs in an effort to topple the Delhi government.
BJP refuted the claims, as they have in the Telangana allegation too, accusing TRS of staging a drama “scripted, directed and produced” by KCR.
