Ayaan Is Cancer Free, Declares Father Actor Emraan Hashmi
Mumbai: Amid the gloom in Bollywood over back-to-back news of some stars being diagnosed with cancer, actor Emraan Hashmi has brought cheers to the industry, declaring that is son is free from cancer now.
In 2014, Ayaan was detected with a rare case of kidney cancer when he was only about four years. Medical tests and scans conducted revealed a malignant tumour inside the child’s kidney. Fortunately, doctors found that the cancer was only in the first stages and can be completely cured through surgery and chemotherapy.
“Today, 5 years after his diagnosis Ayaan has been declared cancer free. It has been quite a journey. Thank you for all your prayers and wishes. Love and prayers for all the cancer fighters out there, hope and belief goes a long way. You can WIN this battle!” the actor posted on Twitter alongside three pictures of him and his son. Emraan’s movie Why Cheat India is scheduled to be released on Friday, January 18.

A pall of gloom had descended in the Mumbai film industry ever since actors such as Sonali Bendre and Imran Khan disclosed they were undergoing treatment for cancer. 2018 also saw veterans such as Rishi Kapoor and Mithun Chakraborty visiting US for treatment for some undisclosed disease. Ayushmann Khurrana’s wife, Tahira Kashyap took to Instagram where she revealed that she was being treated for stage 0 brest cancer. In January this year, actor Hrithik Roshan disclosed that is father director-producer Rakesh Roshan has been diagnosed with throat cancer.
While Sonali Bendre has returned back to Mumbai in December last year, Imran Khan has remained out of media glare since May last year.
