Kalahandi: A woman rescued an abandoned newborn girl at Maningpadar village under Bhawanipatna Sadar police limits in Kalahandi district on Monday.
Sources said the woman found the baby when she was going to attend to nature’s call and informed village residents. They admitted the baby to the district headquarters hospital in Bhawanipatna.
It is suspected that parents abandoned the baby following her birth. On being informed, the Bhawanipatna Sadar police reached the spot and started investigations into the matter.
