Rourkela: The businessman of Biramitrapur, Pradeep Kundu, who was abducted last Saturday, returned home on Wednesday night.

Confirming this, Sundargarh SP Sagarika Nath said the identity of kidnappers and the cause of abduction have not been confirmed. Kundu was kidnapped from near Biramitrapur Bijabahala area.

Some used syringes were found in his car which was parked on the roadside following his abduction.

After a missing report about Kundu was filed, police had started investigation and kept tracking his mobile phone. On Monday, the kidnappers called his wife and demanded a huge amount of ransom and threatened her of dire consequences, if she informed the police.

However, police formed six teams which started search operation for Kundu in Odisha and neighbouring Jharkhand. But it has not been clear whether the kidnappers freed him due to police activities or he paid the ransom amount.

Meanwhile, the SP said two more police trams have been formed to conduct raids on suspicious places to nab the kidnappers.
