Accident Not Suicide, ACP Sanjiv Satpathy On Son’s Death
Bhubaneswar: ACP Sanjiv Satpathy, whose 12-year-old son Ayushman was found dead under mysterious circumstances late on Saturday, said that it was a case of accidental death and not suicide as being termed by the media.
“This is a humble request to all the print and media friends not to spread wrong news about my son Ayushman. My son was a brilliant student and very affectionate too and above all, he loved his parents and sister very much,” Satpathy said in a communiqué to the media on Monday.
The ACP said that Ayushman returned home with his mother after tennis practice (3 pm to 6 pm). After having snacks, he left for tuition (7 pm to 9 pm). He then played football and came home at 10 pm. “He was in the habit of playing pranks with family members and the day before yesterday also, when my wife asked him not to play with our pet dog Honey as it was already 12.30 am, he tried to express his anger by putting a pair of jeans around his neck,” he said.
Ayushman accidentally got stuck in the loop, which his wife failed to notice immediately, leading to his death, he said.
“I sincerely request and beg you all not to term the death of my son as suicide. Neither was it due to the impact of a video game nor anything else as circulated by some sections of the media,” he added.
