Bhubaneswar: Odisha Police has arrested the accused in the acid attack on his wife in the city from Gujarat.
The arrested person, Tapuni Nayak of Mahalingapada under Nimapara police limits in Puri district, had an argument with his wife while they were on a visit to Dhauli Peace Pagoda on August 12.
As the argument escalated into heated exchange of words, Tapuni allegedly threw acid on his wife near Balipada in Dhauli. Following the incident, Tapuni was absconding.
During investigation, the police traced Tapuni in Gujarat and arrested him from there.
Tapuni, who was rescued by police was undergoing treatment in SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. She has been discharged after recovery.
