Action Taken Against 836 Officers On Graft Charges: Minister
Bhubaneswar: Law Minister Pratap Jena on Tuesday informed the Odisha Assembly that in the last two years, the state government has taken action against 836 officers for gross irregularities in the ongoing state and centrally sponsored schemes.
Replying to a question of Congress member, Santosh Singh Saluja, the minister said action has been taken against officers who were in charge of the implementation of schemes like the Indira Awas Yojana, Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in 2017 and 2018.
“Of the 836 officers, 79 have been suspended and 22 have been dismissed from the service while charge sheets have been framed against 35. Besides, 268 officers have been served show cause notice while explanations have been sought from 432 officers,” Jena said.
