Mumbai: South superstar Thalapathy Vijay’s security has been beefed up following threats amid plans to strengthen his political party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) ahead of next year’s Assembly polls in Tamil Nadu.
Vijay, who founded TVK last year, has been provided Y-security cover, including an 8-person entourage consisting of two commandos and six police officials, according to a Times Now report.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) granted security to the actor around the clock after the Intelligence Bureau’s threat assessment.
To explain his political ideologies, Vijay will be leading a roadshow to reach out to the masses.
On the work front, Vijay was last seen in Venkat Prabhu’s ‘The Greatest of All Time (The GOAT).’
He will next be seen in H Vinoth’s ‘Jana Nayagan’ along with Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol and Mamitha Baiju.
Though the actor has not announced his future in films once he gets fully active in politics, ‘Jana Nayagan’ is speculated to be his last movie.
