Bhubaneswar: A day after actress Tunisha Sharma allegedly committed suicide on the sets of a television serial in Vasai in Maharashtra’s Palghar district, police have arrested her co-star Sheezan Khan on Sunday.
According to sources, Valiv police registered a case against Sheezan Khan on the basis of a complaint filed by Tunisha’s mother alleging that the TV actor was responsible for her 20-year-old daughter’s suicide. In her complaint, Tunisha’s mother claimed that her daughter was in a relationship with Sheezan and blamed him for her daughter’s extreme step.
The police arrested Sheezan under Indian Penal Code Section 306 (abetment of suicide) and would produce him in the court, a news agency quoted the station house officer of Valiv police station as saying. Her post-mortem was conducted at JJ Hospital on Sunday and there were no injury marks found on her body.
