Bhubaneswar: Aditya Alumina Refinery, Kansariguda, in Odisha’s Rayagada district, has launched Project Udyamee to promote entrepreneurship among local youth and women with the goal of building a sustainable and inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem in the region.
A unit of Hindalco Industries Limited under the Aditya Birla Group, the refinery signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mahashakti Foundation on January 9.
Project Udyamee aims to establish a rural business incubation centre that will support aspiring entrepreneurs in developing and strengthening micro-enterprises. End-to-end assistance including enterprise mapping, business plan development, institutional convergence and linkages, market facilitation services, and entrepreneurship capacity building at the grassroots level will be provided to aspiring entrepreneurs.
The project will encourage enterprise development across manufacturing, trading, small businesses and service sectors, enabling sustainable income generation and fostering economic self-reliance among local communities.
The MoU was signed by unit head and president of Aditya Alumina Refinery Mazhar Beig, in the presence of Head – HR, IR and CSR Deepak Mohanty and Head – F&A Basudev Khuntiya.
Founder Jugal Kishor Patnaik signed the agreement on behalf of Mahashakti Foundation.
Beig said that Project Udyamee reflects Aditya Alumina Refinery’s strong commitment to inclusive economic development by empowering local youth and women to adopt entrepreneurship as a sustainable livelihood option. He added that the initiative would not only create entrepreneurs in the region but also significantly boost the local economy.
