Aditya Birla’s Apparel Unit Among 8 Proposals Cleared By Odisha Govt

Bhubaneswar: The State Level Single Window Clearance Authority of the Odisha government approved eight investment proposals of worth Rs 1197.41 crore at a meeting here on Tuesday.

Presiding over the meeting, chief secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi directed departments concerned to provide proactive facilitation to the approved units for their early grounding.

The proposals approved in the meeting were from various sectors like downstream in steel and aluminium, food processing, apparel manufacturing, hospitality, iron and steel, plastic pipes and fittings. In total, these projects will create employment opportunities for 5,162 persons.

The major approved projects included the proposal of Aditya Birla Fashion Retail Ltd for setting up an apparel manufacturing unit at Tikiri in Rayagada district with an investment of Rs 114 crore. The project will create employment opportunities for 2750 people.

The other projects approved by the single window are as follows:

— Gemini Edibles and Fats India (makers of Freedom brand of oil) to set up a refined vegetable oil manufacturing unit of 396 KTPA capacity at Tata Steel Industrial Park in the district of Ganjam with an investment of Rs 300 crore and employment potential of 525

–GMLR Techno Industries Pvt Ltd to set up a manufacturing unit for production PVC water storage tanks at Industrial Estate Chhatabara in Khurda district with an investment of Rs  61.50 crore and employment opportunity for 350 people

–Proposal of  KURLON company to set up a PU foam manufacturing unit at Khurda with an investment of Rs 65.

–The proposals of Swosti Group’s new resort project named Gopalpur Palm Resort at Udayapur in Ganjam district with employment opportunity for 220 people.

–The proposal of Astral Poly Technik Ltd to set up a new plastic pipes & fittings manufacturing unit of capacity 35,000 MT with a total investment of Rs 109.81 crore at Ramdaspur in Cuttack district

–Expansion of Agrasen Sponge Private Ltd of its 200(4×50) TPD Sponge Iron Plant to 0.072 MTPA capacity Integrated Steel Plant at Kansbahal in Sundargarh district with investment of Rs 198.57 crore and employment opportunity for 461 persons and expansion of Shree Hari Sponge Private Ltd of its Sponge Iron Plant (2 x 100TPD) to 0.135 MTPA capacity Integrated Steel Plant at Kendrikela in Sundargarh district with investment of Rs 284 crore and employment potential for  256 persons.

–One proposal of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd envisaging an investment of Rs 1970.52 crore.


Development Commissioner Asit Kumar Tripathy, additional chief secretary, Forest & Environment Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, additional chief secretary MSME, L.N. Gupta; principal secretary, Industry Sanjeev Chopra along with principal secretaries, secretaries and senior officers of departments concerned participated in the evaluation of the project proposals.
