Mumbai: Filmmaker Aditya Dhar, who is currently enjoying the success of ‘Dhurandhar 2’, reacted to the National Award praise for the film, saying he is “always prepared” as it continues its strong run at the box office.
Reviewing the film, Sankshita, niece of veteran actor Raj Zutshi who portrayed the role of Lt. General Shamshad Hassan in the film, wrote, “@main_zutshirai Chaaachuuuu! It was wonderful to see you on screen again. ‘I’ll have to share this with someone.’ @adityadharfilms. Mr Dhar!!! What an extraordinary film! Sequels can be challenging, given the high expectations from the original, but Dhurandhar 2 has genuinely exceeded them all! You truly deserve a National Award for the remarkable legacy you’ve built!”
Reposting her review on his Instagram Stories, Aditya wrote, “Always prepared for the National Awards!”
Earlier, Aditya won the Best Director award at the 66th National Film Awards for ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’, which was inspired by the Indian Army’s surgical strikes in Pakistan following the 2016 Uri attack.
At that time, Aditya had said, “This is an honour I am going to cherish for the rest of my life. Being conferred with the National Award has been a dream since the time I understood what films meant to me, and films truly mean the world to me. Thanks to my family and friends for their unconditional support over the years. The way my parents and my brother stood by me through all the struggle is what helped me realise my dream so beautifully.”
The first part of ‘Dhurandhar’ released in December 2025 and became a blockbuster, earning over ₹1300 crore worldwide.
Its sequel, ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, hit theatres on March 19 with a huge opening of ₹145 crore.
So far, it has collected over ₹1,033.37 crore in India and more than ₹1600 crore globally.
The first film followed Ranveer Singh’s character Hamza as he infiltrated terror networks in Lyari.
The sequel explores his past, revealing that his real name is Jaskirat Singh Rangi and explaining the reasons behind his mission.
The story also moves forward, showing Hamza taking control of power in Lyari while working to destroy a terror network in Pakistan that poses a threat to India.
Besides Ranveer, the film also stars Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, R. Madhavan, and Sanjay Dutt in key roles.
