Bhubaneswar: In a strict action against fraudulent practices, the Higher Education Department has cancelled the admission of 28 students to Bhadrak Autonomous College for producing fake PwD certificates in three academic sessions.
In an official letter to the General Manager of Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC) on Tuesday, the deputy director of the State Higher Education department directed to take the action against the students for making admission into the college by producing fake PwD (persons with disabilities) certificates.
“I am directed to inform you for cancelling the admission of 28 students of Bhadrak Autonomous College, who had taken admission by producing fake PwD certificates at the time of admission for the sessions 2019-20, 2020-21 and 2021-22,” the deputy director said.
Stating that the list of those students has been furnished with the letter, the official directed the OCAC to update the admission in SAMS portal after the cancellation.
The students against whom the department has taken the step include two from Arts stream for 2019-20 academic year, nine students from Arts and Science stream for 2020-21 academic year and 17 students from Arts, Commerce and Science streams for 2021-22 academic year.
