After 3 Months, Arvind Kejriwal Granted Bail In Delhi Liquor Policy Case

New Delhi: A district sessions court here granted bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in a money-laundering case linked to the controversial liquor policy.

Vacation judge Nyay Bindu of Rouse Avenue court passed the order in the evening, having reserved it earlier in the day after hearing the matter for two days.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo will have to pay a bail bond of Rs 1 lakh and can walk out of Tihar on Friday.

ED asked the court to grant it 48 hours to accept bail bonds so that the order can be challenged in a higher court.

However, the judge said that there was no stay on the bail order.

The court said that the counsel of Kejriwal can apply for bail bond on Friday before the concerned judge.

Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 21, and remained in its custody for 10 days before being shifted to Tihar jail on April 1.

The Supreme Court granted the Delhi CM interim bail on May 10 in view of the Lok Sabha elections. He surrendered after the elections ended, and was back in Tihar on June 2.
