Bhubaneswar: The Saigon International University (SIU) of Vietnam is keen to collaborate with Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) Deemed to be University in areas of academic exchange and research.
That was the view of Dr Phuoc Minh Hiep, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City-based university, at the end of a four-day visit to SOA by an eight-member delegation from SIU.
Dr Hiep called on SOA Founder President Prof. (Dr) Manojranjan Nayak before winding up the visit on Saturday. Dr Dao Van Tuyet, Head of the Department of Data Science at SIU, was also present.
Expressing satisfaction over the opportunity to visit different institutions of SOA, Dr Hiep thanked the Bhubaneswar-based university for the hospitality extended to his delegation.
He mentioned about the facilities available in SOA in its medical college as well as in research centres focused on genomics, bio-informatics, pharmaceuticals, data science and Artificial Intelligence.
Prof. (Dr.) Nayak said SIU should prepare a roadmap involving the two universities and take the matter forward.
Dr Hiep and other members of the delegation interacted with SOA Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda, the Deans, departmental heads and faculty members.
The Vietnamese delegation also visited cultural and historical sites in Bhubaneswar.
