Bhubaneswar: After the BJP’s victory in four states in the Assembly elections, Aparajita Sarangi, the party’s Lok Sabha MP from Odisha’s capital, recalled the words of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
“Aaj aap hum par hans rahe ho kyunki hamari seat kam hai, ek din ayega jab pura desh aap par hasega,” Vajpayee had said, responding to the Congress after the BJP-led Union government lost the no-confidence motion in 1997 by just one vote.
After the BJP’s victory in four states, Aparajita wrote on Twitter, “His words have come true today!” She also shared a Hindi newspaper clip of Vajpayee’s remarks.
