New Delhi: When the National Awards were announced this year, fans of Prithviraj Sukumaran were disappointed that Blessy’s survival drama ‘Aadujeevitham – The Goat Life’ did not receive the honour.
Recently, after Prithviraj was bestowed with the People’s Choice Award for his performance in ‘Aadujeevitham – The Goat Life’ at the BOTIM Onamamangam 2025 in Sharjah, the actor stated that films are not made for juries.
Addressing how ‘Aadujeevitham’ got snubbed at the National Awards, he said, “A film is not made for ten people to sit and grade on it or for a jury to judge. Nor is it created for international festivals, though those are certainly valuable.”
On receiving an ‘award’ from the audience, he said, “At the end of the day, movies are made for the audience — for the people who buy tickets, come to theatres, and enjoy the experience. In that sense, viewers have already given Aadujeevitham its biggest award. For that, I am grateful.”
Prithviraj also won the Best Actor award at the recently held SIIMA 2025.
Written, directed and co-produced by Blessy, ‘Aadujeevitham’ is an adaptation of Benyamin’s 2008 best-selling Malayalam novel.
The actor was last seen in ‘L2 Empuraan’, which was directed by him. He also featured in the recent Netflix film ‘Sarzameen’, co-starring Kajol and Ibrahim Ali Khan.
He will next be seen in ‘SSMB 29’, ‘Vilayath Buddha’ and ‘Daayra.’
