Mumbai: After actor Ranveer Singh, a close relative of Salman Khan has reportedly received a threatening email demanding crore of rupees, with the sender claiming to be associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
According to an Aaj Tak report, Salman’s relative, who received the extortion threat through email, is also an actor.
However, no police complaint has been filed in this matter.
On Tuesday, ‘Dhurandhar’ actor Ranveer Singh received a threat via a voice note on WhatsApp. The voice note stated that the actor’s life will be in danger if extortion money worth crore is not paid. The sender identified himself as a member of the Lawrence gang.
Besides launching a probe into the complaint, the Mumbai police increased security at the actor’s Bandra residence.
These threat messages came almost a week after four-rounds of firing was reported outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence. Investigation is underway to ascertain any link between the threat received by Ranveer and the firing incident outside Rohit’s house.
