New Delhi: Days after his plea for special diet in prison was dismissed, two-time Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar has now demanded a television in his cell to catch up on current news and stay updated about the wrestling world.
The wrestler, who was arrested for his alleged involvement in the murder of young wrestler Sagar Rana after a brawl at Chatrasal Stadium two months ago, is currently lodged in a high-security cell of Tihar jail No. 2 in Delhi.
“Sushil Kumar has made a request through his advocate and submitted his application on Friday. He has sought a TV set to keep in touch with the current things happening outside the jail and to get updates about wrestling,” DG (Tihar) Sandeep Goel said.

A Delhi court earlier dismissed Sushil’s plea seeking special food in prison, including health supplements containing protein, Omega-3 capsules, jointment capsules, pre-workout C4, hyde, multivitamin GNC, and exercise bands, as he wanted to continue his career in wrestling.
Sushil was shifted from Mandoli jail to Tihar 10 days ago, with police personnel being deployed round the clock near his barrack.
