Bhubaneswar: Cold wave is likely to return after three-day of rain with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday predicting a drop in temperature by 4-6 six degree Celsius across central Odisha and 2-3 degrees in coastal parts of the state from Monday.
Duty Officer of Bhubaneswar Met Centre, Madan Mohan Das said that the cold wave conditions will prevail in the state for next two to three days. “Mercury plummeted by a degree or two at a few places today while Cuttack, Chandbali, Keonjhar and even Bhubaneswar experienced sporadic rain last evening,” he said.
Moderate fog was seen in Sonepur, Balsore, Sambalpur, Titlagarh, Angul and Balangir, he added.
The duty officer further said that Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj Gajapati, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi, Koraput, Kandhamal, Cuttack and Khurda will witness dense fog due to the presence of enough moisture in the atmosphere after rain.
The condition will prevail till January 6, he added.
