Bhubaneswar: Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra will brief the media on the COVID-19 situation in Odisha through video conferencing at 5.30 pm on Friday.
With the daily COVID-19 caseload crossing the 3000-mark, the Odisha government is likely to announce more restrictions to contain the spread of the virus.
The state reported this year’s biggest spike of 3007 and two more deaths in the last 24 hours.
Odisha now has 14,621 Active cases. Khurda and Sundargarh districts are already in the red zone, while cases are rising in Bhubaneswar. Night curfew is already being enforced in 10 districts, bordering Chhattisgarh.
