Bhubaneswar: For the first time, agriculture students are organising an agricultural conclave at Red Cross Bhawan here on May 7.
The conclave will be part of various programmes being conducted by Shyamala Subarna Agro – a quarterly magazine based on agriculture and designed by students of agriculture — to make organic farming more popular among farmers.
Odisha Bytes and Odisha Sambad are the media partners of this conclave, which will begin at 9 am on Sunday.
According to D Shuvam, it will be a joint brainstorming activity between farmers and the youth of Odisha.
There will be three panel discussions titled — Magical crop millet; Agricultural Entrepreneurship – A Perspective; Odisha Fisheries Development – Dreams and Possibilities.
More than 150 farmers, students and agriculture scientists will join the conclave.
Successful farmers like Chhayarani Sahu, Upendra Biswal and Gyana Ranjan Das and Krishna Lintas Behera as young writers, Anil Mishra of OUAT, Dean of Centurion University Satya Prakash Nanda, Debtanu Barman as successful young entrepreneur and Bodhisattwa of IG Drone will be felicitated.
Shyamala Subarna Agro, launched in 2018, also imparts education on new agricultural techniques to farmers in 12 districts of Odisha, organises farmer awareness camps and millet workshops by promoting the Millet Mission, and provides various types of training to fish farmers.
