AIIMS-Bhubaneswar Declares Half-Day Off For Ayodhya Ram Temple Inauguration Tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar, on Sunday issued a notification, declaring half-day holiday till 2:30 pm on January 22 for the Ram temple consecration ceremony to be held in Ayodhya.

“In pursuance to DoPT O.M. No. F. No. 12/07/2023-JCA dated 18.01.2023 the competent authority AIIMS, Bhubaneshwar, has decided that AIIMS Bhubaneshwar will observe half-day closing till 14.30 hours on 22nd January 2024, to enable its employees to participate in the celebrations of the Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha at Ayodhya on 22nd January 2024 across India,” the premier medical institution said in a circular.

It added that there will be no interruption in essential hospital services.

AIIMS-Delhi and Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in the national capital have also declared a half-day on January 22 to mark the grand ceremony and added that all critical clinical services will continue their operations. This morning, AIIMS-Delhi further clarified that essential clinical care services and the OPD at the hospital will remain open. “As a continuation of the circular dated January 20 from this office, the outpatient department will remain open to attend to patients with appointments, aiming to prevent any inconvenience and facilitate patient care,” stated the new office memorandum.

The consecration ceremony of Lord Ram Lalla’s idol in the newly-built Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya would begin at 12.20 pm in the auspicious nakshatra and is expected to be completed by 1 pm. Nearly 8,000 guests, including politicians, business stalwarts, entertainment industry stars and other dignitaries, are expected to attend the grand event.
