AIIMS-Bhubaneswar Medical Officer Among 6 New COVID-19 Cases In Odisha Capital

Khurda: Five more persons in Bhubaneswar have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the affected tally to 132 on Tuesday.

According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation, three among them have been in home quarantine while two are local contacts.

Case Details

-A 36-year-old man of Satya Nagar with travel history of Delhi

-A 22-year-old IT professional of Nirankari Nagar, near Jaydev Vihar, with travel history of Delhi

-A 25-year-old woman of Sree Vihar in Patia, linked to earlier positive cases.

-A 37-year-old man of Dumduma’s HB Colony, linked to earlier positive cases.

– A 24-year-old medical officer of a central government hospital in the city

In a statement, AIIMS-Bhubaneswar confirmed that one more of its employee had been infected. “All high-risk contacts quarantined and tested as per norms,” it added.

Five doctors of the premier institute had earlier tested positive for the virus.

Notably, more than 300 healthcare workers of AIIMS have been tested to date.

With three deaths and 74 recoveries, Bhubaneswar now has 54 active cases.
