Air Ambulances To Take Off In Five Odisha Districts
Bhubaneswar: ‘Mukhyamantri Vaayu Swasthya Seba’ (Chief Minister Air Health Service) will soon become operational in five districts of Odisha.
The service, in which critical patients will be airlifted to district headquarters hospitals, will be first launched in Malkangiri and then made available in Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nuapada and Kalahandi. The air ambulance will also allow doctors to attend to patients in remote and inaccessible areas.
According to sources, a three-member team from the Health and Family Welfare Department recently visited Malkangiri hospital and reviewed the infrastructural facilities.
Health Department Director Bijaya Mohapatra, SCB Medical College Dean Danteswara Hota and Assistant DMET Umakanta Satpathy also visited the Nabarangpur district headquarters hospital to assess the infrastructure ahead of the launch of the service.
