Air India Pee-Gate: Accused Shankar Mishra Gets Bail
New Delhi: A Delhi court on Tuesday granted bail to Shankar Mishra, accused of urinating on his co-passenger on a New York-New Delhi Air India flight last year.
Mishra had earlier been denied bail, with the judge saying the act was “utterly disgusting and repulsive, shocked the civic consciousness, and needed to be deprecated.”
Mishra, who allegedly urinated on an elderly woman on board the Air India flight on November 26, had been absconding since the matter came to light more than a month later and the co-passenger initiated action.
Mishra, arrested from Bengaluru on January 7, was sacked by his employer Wells Fargo.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) fined Air india Rs 30 lakh and suspended the pilot’s licence.
