Bhubaneswar: Air Odisha is scheduled to start flight services from Biju Patnaik International Airport here to Raipur from June 20.
Sources said the maiden Air Odisha flight would take off from Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar at 6.10 am and reach Raipur around 7.40 am. On the same day, the flight will depart from Raipur at 12.15 pm and arrive in Bhubaneswar at 1.40 pm. It will have two pilots and one cabin crew member. At least 20 passengers can travel in the flight.
However, passengers will have to pay Rs 4,500 per head as the aircraft is not under Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) of the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) yet which states that flights flying around 500 kms, must charge a fare of Rs 2,500 per hour of flying.
As Raipur is a commercial hub, now people can reach the city in one and half hour for trade purposes.
Air Odisha had launched its first flight on the Jagdalpur-Raipur-Vizag route on the 15th of this month.
