New Delhi: An Akasa Air Delhi-Bengaluru flight returned to India Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, New Delhi, due to a security alert, the airline said on Wednesday.
The flight QP 1335 carrying 174 passengers, including three infants and seven crew members, is following all necessary emergency protocols to ensure a safe landing in Delhi, the airline added.
“The Akasa Air Emergency Response teams are monitoring the situation and have advised the pilot to divert the flight to India Gandhi International Airport in Delhi as a precaution,” said the airline spokesperson.
“Our teams are on the ground and prepared to assist all passengers to ensure their safety and comfort,” the airline stated.
This is the 12th incident of a security alert in three days involving Indian flights.
On Tuesday, seven flights received bomb threat messages through social media. One of these flights was US-bound. It made an emergency landing in Canada en route to Chicago, US.
An IndiaGo Airlines flight from Mumbai to Delhi made an emergency landing at Ahmedabad on Tuesday midnight.
