Mumbai: At the 25th edition of FICCI Frames, Bollywood’s action hero Akshay Kumar, who has played the role of a cop several times on screen, highlighted issues with Maharashtra Police footwear.
The actor hosted Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for an engaging, sensible and insightful conversation at the event.
Pointing out the problem with the uniform of Indian police, Akshay requested the CM to redesign their footwear into comfortable one, and requested him to heal the heel problem.
“The police shoes have heels which make it difficult for them to run. As someone from a sports background, I can say that such footwear can affect posture and lead to back problems. If possible, their shoes should be redesigned to be more athletic and comfortable,” Akshay pointed out.
Fadnavis acknowledged the issue, and welcomed Akshay’s suggestion.
“You’ve made a very good point. No one had ever brought this to my attention before,” the chief minister said.
The CM also invited Akshay to share his valuable ideas in redesigning the footwear for police personnel.
“You are an action hero, you know what kind of shoes are best for running and physical work. If you can help us with the design or suggest innovations, we will definitely implement them,” Fadnavis told the actor.
