Mumbai: After a video of Ranbir Kapoor’s mannerisms went viral and he became a target of online trolling, his wife Alia Bhatt took to social media to give it back to haters in a dignified manner.
In a recent viral video, Ranbir was seen posing for a photo with Alia and the Kapoor family. But he didn’t give his hand to Alia to get up and pose for the photo. In the same video, Saif Ali Khan was seen helping his wife Kareena Kapoor Khan to get up and pose for the photo.
Netizens compared Ranbir to Saif and slammed the former. The video was tagged as ‘two men in one frame.’
This didn’t go down well with Alia, who defended her husband by liking a video shared on a fan page that pointed out at Ranbir’s positives.
The video that was captioned as ‘the Ranbir Kapoor they don’t post about’, showed the actor holding his wife’s hand while walking down the stairs and helping her get up. It also showed Ranbir helping uncle Randhir Kapoor get up from his seat.
Earlier, in an episode of ‘Koffee With Karan’, Alia opened up about rumours over Ranbir’s toxic nature.
“I have a very candid way of speaking. So, even when I’m talking about anything in my life, I like to imitate the person that I’m talking about, I like to give anecdotes, I like to make it personal. I feel like a lot of things just get picked out of context which happened recently. My team told me ‘ye kuch out of hand jaara hai’ (This is going a little out of hand). I was like, okay theek hai jaane do (let it be),” Alia said.
She added, “Then I realised that there were serious articles written about how he was a toxic man, and I thought, ‘are we serious?’ There are many issues in the world to give more attention to. The only reason I feel bad is because he is genuinely the opposite. There is a line which I think is being crossed but you cannot say anything about it. Ranbir says this, ‘Alia the audience owns you, they can say whatever the hell they want to say about you, as long as your movies are doing well, please don’t complain sitting in your apartment in Bandra’.”
On the work front, Ranbir and Alia will be seen sharing screen in ‘Love And War.’
