Bhubaneswar: The Odisha capital reported less than 180 fresh COVID-19 cases for the second consecutive day, on Saturday.
The 182 new infections pushed the affected tally to 28,481. As many as 189 people had tested positive for the virus on Friday after a spike of 201 the previous day.
However, this number caused some raised eyebrows with Khurda district having reported 183 new cases in the last 24 hours, which means all patients except one belong to Bhubaneswar.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), 44 are quarantine and 138 local contact cases.
The highest of nine cases have been reported from Nayapalli, followed by nine from Patia and seven from Patrapada.
The last 24 hours also saw two patients succumbing to the virus and another 276 recovering from the infection.
With 150 deaths and 25895 recoveries, Bhubaneswar now has 2415 active cases.
