Sambalpur: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday said all villages in Odisha’s Sambalpur district would have internet connection within one year.
Speaking at a pubic meeting, organised at high school playground in Jujumura on the occasion of completion of 8 years of BJP government at the Centre, Pradhan said most of the villages in the district were still deprived of having active internet network as the service providers were unable to erect their towers. As a result, people were unable to access the welfare schemes of the Centre and the students were facing difficulties in availing online studies.
Considering these problems, the Union Minister said he would take the initiative to get each village connected to the internet so that they can avail the benefits of the welfare schemes.
Speaking on the achievements of the BJP government, Pradhan said all sectors including education, technology, employment, agriculture, sanitation, healthcare have witnessed development during these 8 years. Citing the example of youtuber Isak Munda of Jujumura, who found mention in the weekly programme of ‘Mann ki Baat’ of the prime minister, Pradhan said he is an example of how technology can bring transformation in one’s life.
Pradhan also targeted Odisha government for rampant corruption at all levels and called upon the people to expose its true face by voting it out of power in next General Elections.
Senior BJP leader of the state Debendra Pradhan, youth leader Jayant Pradhan, Sambalpur MP Nitesh Gangdev, Rengali MLA Nauri Nayak and other leaders were present at the meeting.
