Bajaj’s much-awaited electric scooter Chetak recently covered 10 cities and 3500 km in an awareness drive named ‘Chetak electric yatra’.
MD Rajiv Bajaj has also revealed that the warranty on the electric Chetak will three years/50,000 km. The company stated that the battery life is about 70,000 km.
However, rivals such as Revolt Motors and Ather Energy are offering longer warranties on their electric vehicles. Revolt has a 5 years/75,000km warranty along with a battery warranty of up to eight years/1.5 lakh km. Ather’s S340 is offered with a battery life of up to 50,000 km and a three year/unlimited km warranty.
Apart from this, Bajaj has revealed that the iconic Chetak will be assembled by an all-female workforce at its Chakan plant in Maharashtra.
The Chetak will be exported to other markets, and the company is ready to ramp up production depending on demand.
