Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Operations of ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) has won the prestigious “Champion (Outstanding) Award” in the ‘Water Management’ category under the Steel Sector at the 19th EXCEED Environment Award 2025, held in Bhubaneswar.

This recognition celebrates the company’s exemplary efforts in sustainable water management practices, contributing significantly to environmental stewardship and corporate responsibility, a company press release said on Tuesday.

Bhaskar Chatterjee, Former Union Secretary, and Chairman, National Committee for Formulation of Indian National ESG Standards along with Pranavi Luthra, Vice President, EKDKN presented the award to Suvendu Kumar Dash, Head, Environment & Sustainability, AM/NS India Odisha and Debadatta Das, In-charge, Environment & Sustainability, AM/NS India Paradip in a function hosted on October 31 by the Sustainable Development Initiative (a unit of Ek Kaam Desh Ke Naam), a leading NGO championing social and environmental causes since 2007.

On the occasion, Suresha G, Chief, Odisha Operations, AM/NS India, said, “At AM/NS India, sustainability is not just a goal, it’s a mindset and a firm commitment. This award inspires us to continue innovating and investing in solutions that protect our planet and empower our communities”.

The EXCEED Awards, supported by the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Government of India, honour outstanding achievements in Environment, Occupational Health & Safety, Renewable Energy, Oil & Gas, HR, and CSR.

The award underscores ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India’s commitment to ESG principles and aligns with the evolving landscape of Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting (BRSR), as mandated by SEBI for top listed companies.

ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India continues to lead by example, integrating sustainability into its core operations and contributing to inclusive growth and national development.
