Bhubaneswar: Work under ‘Ama Odisha, Nabin Odisha’ programme will resume after a thorough check, the state Assembly was informed on Tuesday.
This was stated by Panchayati Raj Minister Rabi Narayan Naik while answering a question by Congress MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati and BJP legislator Siddhant Mohapatra.
The Minister said budgetary provision of Rs 3,457 crore had been made for ‘Ama Odisha, Nabin Odisha’ initiative. Only 30 to 40 per cent of work has been completed, while some of the works are underway. Works at some places have been stalled due to land acquisition issues or reasons, he said.
Work for Shree Jagannath Temple Heritage Corridor Project, ‘Arpan Rice collection drive’, and sports infrastructure development had been undertaken under the initiative. While the entire programme is being examined, pending amount is also to be cleared and payment made to those who had executed several works before resumption of the initiative, the Minister said.
He said information regarding some works are yet to be forwarded from block or panchayat level to the department. Those blocks and panchayats have been directed to submit their reports as soon as possible, Naik said.
