Berhampur: A woman was killed after an ambulance carrying a COVID-19 patient ran over her on the premises of MKCG Medical College and Hospital at Berhampur on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Manju Mohapatra(45), a resident of Nachuni village under Balugaon police limits in Khurda district.
According to the sources, the woman along with her husband and nephew were walking towards the causality ward of the hospital, when ambulance driver list control over the vehicle and rammed it into her. She died on the spot.
Police reached the spot and sent the body for postmortem. The driver from Sitalapalli hospital has been detained for further interrogation.
