Amicus Curiae’s Assistant Arrives For Jagannath Temple Reforms
Puri: Senior Supreme Court lawyer Priya Hingorani arrived in Puri on Wednesday for a meeting with the temple administration and the sevayats’ body. She is the assistant of Ranjit Kumar, amicus curiae appointed by the Supreme Court to oversee reforms in the Jagannath Temple.
Accompanied by temple information officer Pradipta Chatterjee and Nayaka of the Chhattisa Nijog, Janardan Pattajoshi Mahapatra, Hingorani went inside the temple and had a darshan of the Lords from Bhitarakatha near the sanctum sanctorum.
As per schedule, Hingorani will hold a meeting with the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration and the Chhattisa Nijog on the apex court’s 12 reforms proposals.
According to the temple administration, any person having an opinion on the reforms can submit it to Hingorani through an affidavit.

Sources said Hingorani will hold a daylong meeting with the senior sevayats, temple administration officials and members of the temple managing committee. She will hold another round of meetings at the temple administration office on Thursday and prepare a report before amicus curiae Ranjit Kumar’s scheduled arrival on February 22.
During his two-day visit, Ranjit will hold a meeting with the temple administration, the temple managing committee and the Daitapati Nijog on the implementation of the Supreme Court’s reforms proposals.
