New Delhi: Comedian Samay Raina, whose India’s Got Latent show sparked a countrywide furore last month over obscene remarks by podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, is facing more trouble.
Samay’s shows titled ‘Unfiltered’, scheduled at the Talkatora Stadium here on March 21 and 23, have been cancelled.
Both shows were shown to be sold out on BookMyShow, but a week before the performances, the ticketing app sent out a message to ticket holders on Saturday informing them about the cancellation.
“Your Samay Raina Unfiltered – Talkatora Stadium Show scheduled on Fri Mar 21 2025 (or Sun Mar 23 2025) 7:00 PM at Talkatora Stadium Delhi has been cancelled. Sorry for the inconvenience caused. We have processed the refund for the amount…The refund should reflect in 7 to 10 working days,” read the message sent to attendees by BookMyShow.
Though neither BookMyShow nor Samay specified the reason behind the cancellation, it’s believed to be a fallout of the Allahbadia controversy.
There are also reports that Samay’s shows scheduled for April in Gujarat have been cancelled too.
